Nairobi is increasingly emerging as Africa’s hub for most companies operating in the region.

Nairobi, the largest in East and Central Africa, has several factors going for it: relatively better telecommunications and transport links, strategic location with access the Indian Ocean that makes it a natural gateway to the regional market, a supportive and gradually improving business environment, a fairly sophisticated and robust financial and capital market and significantly, a workforce that is widely acknowledged as one of the best, if not the best on the continent in terms of skills and work ethic.

Among the companies that have chosen Nairobi as one or their anchor African hub include telecoms operator Airtel, which runs its 16-country African operation from Nairobi. Others are Coca Cola, General Electric, Google, Nokia and Samsung, among others.
